THE CENTER FOR GREATER HEALING OPENS NEW
MENTAL HEALTH CARE FACILITY

The City of Toledo Council will recognize the Center For Greater Healing with an official resolution during its ribbon-cutting ceremony slated for Friday, Aug. 23, 2024

TOLEDO, OHIO, Aug. 19- Locally owned, the Center For Greater Healing is announcing the opening of its new Northwest Ohio facility, located at 3232 Central Park West, Suite C, Toledo, Ohio. The occasion will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony set for 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23.

The mental health facility is the first of its kind in the area to offer a wide range of healing therapies for all clients and to provide affirming and inclusive mental health care for LGBTQ+ individuals.

This initiative expands the traditional methods of mental health care by honoring the diversity of gender identities, sexual orientations and expressions.

"Our practice is committed to creating a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for all of our clients," said Founder and Executive Director Kurt Landis. "The Center For Greater Healing strives to foster a culture of acceptance and understanding, where all are free from judgement or discrimination."

Landis noted he and his team saw a growing need in the Toledo area relating to the unique and specific mental health care needs of LGBTQ+ individuals.

"As clinicians, as well as LGBTQ+ community members ourselves, we knew we could no longer ignore the care needed for LGBTQ+ individuals seeking mental health care. We felt compelled to address these needs for this ever-growing population, their families and loved ones," said Landis. "We agreed that we would be the ones to step up and drive the change that better addresses our overall mental health care and well-being."

With the team's increased awareness, use of affirming therapy, and inclusive mental health care, the Center For Greater Healing's team collaborates with each client to develop an individual treatment plan based on person-centered and strengths-centered approaches for improved mental health and healing.

"Our charter supports people living authentically; to live as themselves. Not only will our clients benefit, but our community will reap benefits as well," said Landis. "And that gives us all hope for a better tomorrow."

Leaders in the community agree, specifically members of the City of Toledo Council. In a show of their support, City of Toledo Council Member Nick Komives will present a resolution in honor and recognition of the Center For Greater Healing's opening during its ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Center For Greater Healing is hosting its ribbon-cutting and open house at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23, at 3232 Central Park West, Suite C, Toledo, Ohio.
