MSU President Waded Cruzado receives Placemaker of the Year award from Montana Ambassadors

BOZEMAN - Montana State University President Waded Cruzado has been named Placemaker of the Year by the nonprofit Montana Ambassadors. The award is presented annually to a Montanan who has invested in his or her community and is seen as a transformative, emerging and impactful representative of the community.

According to nominating documents, Cruzado was recognized for her longtime leadership at MSU and in Bozeman.

"Since coming to MSU in 2010, Waded Cruzado has led MSU in creating an incredible University community that has grown in enrollment, research, athletics, outreach, etc.," the nomination stated. "Her imprint on Montana, MSU and Bozeman will be felt for decades to come."

Cruzado said she is proud to accept the award and honored to represent both MSU and Bozeman.

"I am truly honored to be nominated and accept such an amazing award," Cruzado said. "Leading MSU for the past 15 years has been an extraordinary journey, but this recognition belongs to our remarkable students, dedicated faculty and committed staff. Their hard work and passion are what make MSU exceptional."

The award ceremony will be held on Oct. 4.
