New Editors in Photo

We are excited to welcome Sangsuk Sylvia Kang and Zuzanna Piekarska to the Photo desk!

Sangsuk Sylvia Kang is joining the Photo desk as staff editor on the International desk in New York. In this role Sylvia will conceptualize, assign and edit a wide array of news and feature photographs and video for The Times's International report, with a focus on innovative digital story forms and presentations. She will also be responsible for the International weekend print section.

Originally from Seoul and based in New York City, Sylvia is a graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Most recently, she was a photo editor at Time magazine focusing on international stories. She has served as a juror for World Press Photo Contest, the National Press Photographers Association's Best of Photojournalism Competition, and the Alexia Grant, among others.
