Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian at the Memorial of the Liberators of Belgrade participated in the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade

On October 20, Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian at the Memorial of the Liberators of Belgrade participated in the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade. The event was attended by the Minister of Defense of Serbia Bratislav Gašić and a number of high-ranking officials, Ambassadors accredited to Serbia and many residents of Belgrade.

Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian, along with the Counsellor and Head of the Belgrade office of the Embassy, laid wreath at the monument dedicated to those, who sacrificed their lives during the liberation of Belgrade, and then, accompanied by a famous Serbian politician, our compatriot Aris Movsesijan, paid tribute and laid flowers on the graves of the martyred Armenian officers of the Soviet army, Major Mkrtich Liloyan and Captain Hayrapet Karapetyan.

Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian was also present at the ceremonial session held at the National Theater of Serbia, where Ana Brnabić, the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, delivered the main speech.
