Baker McKenzie Wins IJInvestor Americas Market Impact Award – Latin America for Advising Iberdrola in USD 6 Billion Sale

On December 5, Baker McKenzie was recognized at the IJInvestor Americas Awards ceremony for its representation of Iberdrola in the company's sale of 55% of its Mexican business for USD 6 billion to Mexico Infrastructure Partners (MIP). The transaction included the sale of 13 generation plants with an installed capacity of 8,539 MW.

Reviewed by an international judging committee comprising established energy and infrastructure professionals, the IJInvestor Awards recognizes the best fundraising, deployment, and M&A activity in the energy and infrastructure sector. The Market Impact Award is a new category spotlighting an acquisition that has materially changed the landscape of the energy and infrastructure market.

José Morán, North America's Projects Chair of the Firm's EMI group commented: "We are thankful to the entire team at Iberdrola for the opportunity to assist Iberdrola in this matter, especially to David Mesonero, Miguel Gallardo, Santiago Serrano Rubio, Marta Valverde Rovirosa and Gonzalo Cerón Hernández. But for this team the deal would have not been possible."
