New Flour Bluff Elevated Water Storage Tank Placed into Service

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Corpus Christi Water (CCW) announces the completion of a new elevated water storage tank in the Flour Bluff area. The new tank has a capacity of three million gallons, replacing the old one-million-gallon tank constructed in 1970. Located at the intersection of Flour Bluff Drive and Division Road, this new tank features a concrete support pedestal and a welded steel bowl. It is one of seven tanks serving the city.

The tank's height generates pressure, enabling efficient distribution of water by gravity to local homes and businesses. Additionally, it provides crucial extra storage for fire protection and emergency situations in the Flour Bluff area. This project is a vital part of CCW's ongoing efforts to upgrade and improve the city's water infrastructure.

"As we recognize this achievement today, it's also an opportunity to look ahead to our city's future," City Manager Peter Zanoni said. "This water tower is a key component of our comprehensive improvement plan for the area."

"Today's ceremony for the new Flour Bluff water tower highlights the City's continued commitment to improving our water infrastructure," Drew Molly, P.E., COO of Corpus Christi Water said. "This fiscal year alone, we have replaced nearly 60,000 linear feet of waterline - a record of itself. The new Flour Bluff water tower stands as a visible symbol of our dedication to providing reliable, and superior water services to our residents for generations to come. This is a continuation of our strategic plan to improve system resiliency, reliability and capacity."
