Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will attend the online meeting of the Nordic foreign ministers on 10 December.
It will be the last foreign ministers' meeting under the Swedish Presidency. Finland will begin its one-year N5 Presidency at the beginning of next year.
The main themes of the meeting will be Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and support for Ukraine, NATO issues, transatlantic relations and the presentation of the priorities of Finland's forthcoming Presidency.
"Upcoming presidency will include supporting Ukraine and addressing the security situation in our neighbouring region, as well as increasing Nordic cooperation through concrete actions. The Nordic countries are our closest partners as well as an important reference group for us," Minister Valtonen says.
The Nordic countries discuss foreign and security policy issues in the Nordic 5 (N5) cooperation format composed of all five Nordic countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
