University of Detroit Mercy School of Law will continue its work helping address wrongful convictions thanks to a $15,000 grant from the Oakland County Bar Foundation (OCBF).
The clinic was founded in 2018 to help incarcerated individuals with felony convictions and who claim innocence and may not have access to legal services. Detroit Mercy Law students work with faculty to navigate the legal process.
In June, the clinic assisted in vacating the life sentence for a man convicted of first-degree murder based on false testimony of a witness.
