George Fox University adding more than 100 new parking spaces for the 2024-25 academic year

NEWBERG, Ore. - With the arrival of its largest incoming freshman class in history, George Fox University is taking steps to provide additional parking for students this 2024-25 academic year. More than 100 new parking spaces are being added to the university's Newberg campus.

Crews are currently working on the expansion of the Stevens Center parking lot off Meridian Street between Sherman and Sheridan streets. They will also expand the Morse Parking lot next to the baseball fields off Villa Road north of Fulton Street as soon as the necessary permits are received.

The university will have spent more than $2 million on additional parking once both parking lot expansions are complete. The Newberg campus will soon have a total of 1,611 parking spaces.

In the meantime, temporary parking at the Morse Parking lot and at the corner of Hancock Street and Carlton Way will ease the burden on our neighboring streets during construction of a new art building near the center of campus. As part of the university's commitment to being a good neighbor, the George Fox Board of Trustees saw this as a necessary investment to minimize the impact of parking on the surrounding community.

George Fox Universityis ranked byU.S. News & World Reportas a "Best National University" and by The Wall Street Journalas the top private college in Oregon. More than 4,000 students attend classes on the university's campus in Newberg, Oregon, and at teaching centers in Portland and Redmond, Oregon. George Fox offers more than 60 academic programs at the undergraduate level, degree-completion programs for working adults, and 20 masters and doctoral degrees.
