FEMA Risk Map Systems Plans Planned Outage for Infrastructure Improvement

Release Date:
September 3, 2024

FEMA's Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning (MAP) program applications will be offline and unavailable for four days from 12 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024.

FEMA is planning this outage to enhance the system's performance, scalability and reliability, ensuring better service delivery in the future. Nearly 40 FEMA Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning (MAP) applications will be unavailable. The full list of applications affected is listed below.

During this period, users of these applications and services will be unable to access flood risk data, view historic and effective flood mapping products, access flood maps, submit data to revise existing Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), and use key applications with other capabilities.

Planning for the Outage

FEMA encourages users to plan accordingly and seek alternative methods for obtaining necessary information before the outage. Common users of Risk MAP data include emergency managers, flood plain managers, prospective homebuyers, real estate agents and insurance professionals.

Anyone who has questions or needs assistance should contact FEMA support at [email protected]. Visit FEMA.gov for more information on its Risk MAP products.
