Elijah Hays Named Terra State's November Rotary Student of the Month

erra State Community College proudly recognizes Elijah Hays as the November Rotary Student of the Month.

Elijah Hays, originally from Indiana, graduated in 2022 after being homeschooled for most of his high school years. He chose Terra State for its small-campus atmosphere, which provided opportunities to actively engage in campus life and the local community.

At Terra, Hays has excelled both academically and socially. He is a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa, has been on the Dean's List in 2024, and maintains a 4.0 GPA. In addition, Hays is a key member of the Titan Men's Soccer and Terra Esports teams and works as a Resident Assistant at the Landings at Terra Village. His dedication extends beyond campus, with regular volunteer work at Journey Church.

Hays's nominator, Terra State Men's Soccer coach Andrew Chwalik, highlighted his character and leadership, saying, "Elijah exemplifies outstanding character through his positivity, dedication, and willingness to support others. Despite no prior soccer experience, he joined the Terra State team to help them complete their season, earning Player of the Match through hard work and determination. Whether mentoring as an RA or volunteering at his church, Elijah inspires those around him with his compassion and leadership," said Chwalik.

"I want to thank my parents for their unwavering support," Hays said. "Their love and encouragement have been a driving force in my journey. My experience at Terra State has been incredibly fulfilling-from the friendships I've built to the opportunities to grow as a leader. Being part of the Terra community has shaped me both personally and professionally."

Hays is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Interactive Media, a field that blends his passion for creativity, technology, and cameras. After graduating in Spring 2025, he plans to transfer to Purdue University to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science with a focus on business. His long-term goal is to start his own Marketing or Media Group company.

In addition to his academic and community achievements, Hays enjoys woodworking, photography, and running. These hobbies reflect his creative and active lifestyle, further complementing his aspirations in media and business.

Elijah's journey at Terra State exemplifies the impact of hard work, dedication, and a supportive community.
