Sandro Boscaini at the event for the Centenary of the OIV

The President of Masi was there to represent the historic winery, the only Italian winery present in the 'Consortium' of OIV companies.
A toast was made with Masi wines at the end of the event.

Masi President Sandro Boscaini was one of the guests at the event organised on 26th June by the Permanent Delegation of Italy to the International Organisations in Paris as they celebrated the centenary of the foundation of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). Masi, from Valpolicella, took part in this prestigious initiative as a member of the International Consortium of Companies that performs a technical function within the OIV, with its own wines emblematic of Italy's wine-growing prowess.

At the conference, entitled 'History of Wine Cultivation: from Innovation on Earth to Lunar Terroir', speakers for the OIV included President Luigi Moio; General Manager John Barker; Giorgio Delgrosso, Head of the Data Management and Digital Transition Office; Professor Eugenio Pomarici, from the University of Padua; and Massimo Claudio Comparini, CEO of Thales Alenia Space Italia.

In his speech on the fringe of the conference, Sandro Boscaini, President and CEO of Masi, underlined:

"Masi, as the only Italian company that is part of the Consortium, is honoured to be able to participate in this Centenary celebration and feels the responsibility of representing the most historic country of viticulture and wine. I share this tribute to our winery with all our colleagues, especially the Masi Technical Group, which in more than four decades of passionate and professional commitment, and with the assistance of leading academic and scientific contacts around the world, has held high the message of Italy's privileged place in the wine world with its inimitable heritage of indigenous grapes and terroirs."

Following the dinner, Andrea Dal Cin, Masi's Technical Director, guided guests through a tasting of Masi wines. These included the widely available CostaseraAmarone Classico vintage 2019; Passo Blanco 2023, the Pinot Grigio produced on the Masi Tupungato estate in Argentina, which Masi has blended with organic Torrontés grapes processed according to Masi expertise; and the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut Setàge, a dry and silky sparkling wine that is a benchmark of Canevel's production.
