Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration Returns to Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park

MACON, Ga. - Come celebrate southeastern Native American heritage during the 32^nd annual Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15 at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. Experience traditional cultural crafts, storytelling, programs, demonstrations, music, and dance, and shop Native American craft and food vendors.

"The southeastern Native American tribes have maintained their proud cultural identities, despite being forced from their Georgia homes nearly 200 years ago." said Carla Beasley, park superintendent. "We are honored to welcome their return to ancestral lands to share their culture with event visitors."

The event is free to the public. All event parking is located at the Macon-Bibb County Health Plaza located at 171 Emery Highway. A free shuttle will run continuously between the parking area and the event starting at 9:15 am. No parking is available at the park.
