Weitz Expanding Aviation Construction Team Of Experts

With six aviation projects underway at airports across the United States, The Weitz Company's aviation team continues to take off and expand. From a pedestrian bridge at Orlando International Airport (MCO), to a concession project at Denver International Airport (DIA), to the new terminal at Des Moines International Airport (DSM), to a Baggage Handling System (BHS) project at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)- our aviation experts are focused on critical infrastructure in our country's airports.

Five key hires on the aviation team, in addition to repositioning of safety and design experts, round out the team's depth of knowledge around active airport construction.

In the last year, Weitz welcomed the following key hires:

John Carricarte, Project Executive, working at PHX

Johnjoins us with 25 years of experience in design-build, project management, and project delivery. As a member of the American Institute of Architects, John's training has given him the unique ability to track projects from both a technical application and on-site construction process.

Joseph Graziosi, Project Executive, working nationally

Joseph, a civil engineer, joins us having worked on various mega aviation projects at PIT, DCA, JFK, and EWR to name a few. With 40+ years in the industry and experience on over 10 aviation related projects, he's a huge value add to our airport customers, partners, and Weitz team.

Mark Zessin, Sr. Project Manager, working at PHX

Mark is a baggage handling system (BHS) guru with more than 20 years of experience working on commissioning, quality control, requirement validation, and more. He has led baggage teams at various airlines and worked at over 15 airports throughout the US.

Josh Wills, Project Executive, working at MCO

Joshis a leader of our construction team at MCO, who has 25+ years of experience working on complex, large-scale $1B+ projects in Florida and beyond. He has led various airport, transit-oriented, and public & private work from start to finish.

Pat Marino, Project Executive, working at PHX

Pat is a BHS subject matter expert and key leader of our baggage handling team. Pat's experience boasts an impressive career dedicated to baggage systems and airport terminal BHS CBIS/CBRA implementations for nearly 40 years. Pat has worked with nearly 20 airports and multiple airlines to expand operational excellence and passenger experience.

In addition, the Weitz aviation team recently saw the promotion of Tahir Edwards to Design Manager and John Murphy to Aviation Safety Manager. These individuals expertise and enthusiasm for Weitz, our aviation projects, and our business are already making an impact, and we couldn't be happier to have them on board.
