Public Safety Officer of the Month

The Tomball community gathered to honor Detective Erin McNeill as the Public Safety Officer of the Month at the First Friday Luncheon held at Lone Star College-Tomball Beckendorf Center. Tomball Police Chief Jeff Bert celebrated Detective McNeill's outstanding contributions to public safety and her exemplary service within the Tomball Police Department.

Det. McNeill, who began her career with the Tomball Police Department in August 2019, was recognized for her dedication, hard work, and remarkable achievements since joining the Criminal Investigation Division in June 2023. Her investigative skills and commitment to justice have led to numerous successful case resolutions, positively impacting the community.

Chief Bert highlighted two notable cases that showcased Det. McNeill's investigative prowess. The first case involved a trio of suspects committing repeated thefts at Bath and Body Works. Thanks to her diligent efforts, she identified the suspects and filed felony warrants for their arrests, assisting surrounding law enforcement agencies in solving related cases across multiple counties.

In another commendable case, Det. McNeill investigated the theft of a bicycle belonging to an elderly and disabled individual. Her appeal to the public for assistance gained widespread attention, resulting in the community coming together to purchase a new bicycle for the victim. Concurrently, she identified the suspect, filed charges, and recovered the stolen bicycle.

Det. McNeill was also recognized for her recent achievement as a Certified Rifle Instructor, becoming only the second female officer in Texas to earn this certification.

Police Chief Jeff Bert presented Det. McNeill with the Public Safety Officer of the Month award, praising her dedication to duty, community engagement, and relentless pursuit of justice. Community members, colleagues, and family were in attendance, celebrating her well-deserved recognition.
