National Grid and Chamber of Commerce Address December Power Outage

At the December 11 Select Board meeting, representatives from National Grid provided a statement and summary regarding the power outage that occurred during the Annual Christmas Stroll on December 7-8. They outlined the next steps, including an investigation into the cause of the outage and a review of the claims process for those impacted.

During public comment, Nantucket Chamber of Commerce President Peter Burke shared an update from the Chamber, including initial findings from their Business Impact Survey. Burke emphasized the importance of local businesses completing the survey to help quantify the financial effects of the outage on the community.
