TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 43/96 Roundabout CLOSED in Jasper Co. for Pavement Replacement Oct. 6

Where: Roundabout at Missouri Route 43 and Missouri Route 96 in Jasper County north of Joplin

When: 7 p.m., Sunday, October 6 until 7 a.m., Monday, October 7

What: Contractor crews removing old pavement and laying new surface in roundabout

Traffic Impacts:

• Roundabout at Route 43 and Route 96 north of Joplin CLOSED during nighttime hours while crews are working
• Drivers should find alternate routes
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Drivers should expect delays
• Traffic will be directed through the work zone by flaggers at all four legs of the roundabout
• Drivers urged to watch for crews and equipment working close to traffic
• No signed detour
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

This work is in preparation for a resurfacing project on Barton County Route NN in Liberal and Missouri Route 43 between Liberal and Joplin. That project is scheduled to start later this summer.
