BALPA sends it’s condolences following Vilnius Airport crash

In response to the crash at Vilnius Airport, BALPA's General Secretary Amy Leversidge has said the following:

"Any loss like this is felt right across the global aviation family and for our DHL members this tragedy is particularly saddening. We send our deepest condolences to all those affected. Our Pilot Advice and Support (PAS) group is ready to offer support to members at this difficult time.

It is vital that air accident investigators are now given the space to carry out an independent and thorough investigation without interference or unhelpful media speculation about the causes. It is through a culture of learning from accidents and incidents without blame that aviation has developed a strong safety record and we are able to prevent future tragedies."
