Knauf McGregor Named 2024 Local Employer of Excellence by Texas Workforce Commission

MCGREGOR, Texas- December 10, 2024 - Knauf Insulation, Inc., a leading family-owned global manufacturer of building materials, has been announced as the recipient of the 2024 Local Employer of Excellence Award by the Texas Workforce Commission.

This prestigious accolade highlights the impact of private-sector employers in shaping the Texas workforce system. Knauf's substantial contributions to the region has helped grow talent and economic opportunity, while also fostering essential partnerships with other organizations in the six-county Heart of Texas region.

Through strong collaboration with Workforce Solutions, Knauf was able to recruit and hire top talent from the region and provide high-level training for employees ahead of the opening of its new manufacturing plant in McGregor, TX. In total, Knauf hired and trained nearly 150 new team members and has plans to train over 130 more through the partnership with Workforce Solutions.

Through its partnership with Workforce Solutions, Knauf has had the opportunity to actively participate in the YES! Expo, a career exploration event that connects local youth with career opportunities and insights into the building materials industry.

McGregor plant team members were honored with this prestigious award at the annual Texas Workforce Commissions awards luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 2.
