Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, VA - The National Alliance for Care at Home is pleased to announce that Alliance President Emeritus William A. Dombi has won the Industry Ally award from the 2025 McKnight's Pinnacle Awards.
The Pinnacle Awards honor industry veterans who are setting the standards, driving change, providing guidance and inspiring us all. Professionals with at least 20 years of experience in the field, but who continue to strive for success, are eligible. Whether this be a boss, colleague, mentor or friend, we urge you to nominate a deserving person for one of McKnight's' most prestigious achievement awards.
"I have known and respected Bill for many years, so this award comes as no surprise," said Alliance CEO Dr. Steven Landers. "It's been a privilege to work with Bill on the creation of the National Alliance for Care at Home. Bill's leadership during the process of creating the Alliance has been critical to our success. Bill's passion for care at home is an example to all of us and it will inspire us as we build a great future for this community."
"Bill dedicated his career to the care at home community," said Ken Albert, Chair of the Alliance Board of Directors. "He has a deep respect for providers and clinicians and the people who actually deliver the care and this has made him one of the most dedicated and effective advocates our community has ever had."
"I'm very honored by this award," said Bill Dombi. "It's been a great privilege to fight on behalf of providers of care in the home and their patients. Thank you to McKnight's for the award and to all the people I have worked with over the years to expand access to quality care in the home. And most of all, thank you to the people who provide that care. You have been an inspiration to me my entire career."
Before being named President of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice in February 2018, Bill Dombi served as Vice President for Law at NAHC, beginning in 1987 and served as the Director of the Center for Health Care Law and the Executive Director of the Home Care and Hospice Financial Managers Association. During his almost four decades of experience in health care policy and law, Bill has been involved in virtually every legislative, regulatory, and legal development in home care and hospice.
Bill Dombi served as lead counsel in the seminal lawsuit that successfully reformed the Medicare home health services benefit and has litigated numerous other lawsuits on behalf of home care and hospice patients and providers of care.
"With the Pinnacle Awards, McKnight's is honoring the individuals who have not only reached the top of the profession but managed to remain there for years," said Publisher Craig Roth. "They've inspired us in the past and they'll continue to do so for as long as they remain in the field."
