Newton Public Library Closure: October 9-11 for Upgrades and Staff Training

The Newton Public Library will be closed from Wednesday, October 9th through Friday, October 11th. We will reopen on Saturday, October 12th, from 9 AM to 1 PM.

During this closure, library staff will replace the library's server, which will temporarily disable all technology functions within the building. However, this upgrade will not affect remote usage of Libby, the library's catalog, Adventure Pass reservations, or any functions through your library account, such as renewing items or placing holds.

Additionally, library staff will attend the Iowa Library Association Conference in Des Moines on Thursday and Friday, October 10th and 11th. This event will bring together hundreds of Iowa librarians for continuing education, networking with vendors, and sharing fresh ideas to enhance our library services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we temporarily pause this essential city service. No fines will accrue on library items during the three-day closure. We look forward to welcoming our patrons back on Saturday, October 12th! Thank you for your patience.
