The July 2024 Release Is Here!

We are excited to announce the July 2024 release of the SnapLogic platform. This release enables you to efficiently and easily work with unstructured data with GenAI App Builder updates, improve data privacy with masking capability in AutoSync, and automate more workflows and improve connectivity with platform and Snap updates.

Efficiently handle unstructured data

With the July 2024 release, you can handle unstructured data easily with a number of new Snap Packs. Adobe PDF Snap Pack allows you to integrate PDF functionality within your application such as extracting text, tables, figures or adding a scannable layer on top of an image.

The Unstructured Snap Pack extracts data in a structured format from an unstructured document. This powerful Snap Pack enables processing of PDF invoices, or PDF contracts so that data is accurately extracted out of a PDF document and fed into the CRM, ERP, or other system of record.

You can also search your vector embeddings easily with new Vector Search Snaps that have been added to the PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and AlloyDB Snap Packs, making it easy for you to build better performing retrieval pipelines for your GenAI applications. We have also added vector data type support to PostgreSQL's Insert and Update Snap so you can leverage our PostgreSQL Snap Pack to store vector embeddings as well.

Collaborate more effectively with SnapGPT and notes

SnapLogic platform provides a number of ways to document your pipelines/workflows. You can add sticky notes to a pipeline to describe what each section of the pipeline does. You can also add notes in individual Snaps or label Snaps with the action they are performing.

SnapGPT now leverages all of that data if you ask it to describe a pipeline. This is a great feature for team members to understand each other's work. It also greatly simplifies the onboarding of a new team member.

Strengthen data privacy

SnapLogic AutoSync now helps you strengthen data privacy for any sensitive data that you want to move to the cloud data warehouse. The masking feature helps you remove sensitive PII data such as social security numbers or phone numbers before the data is propagated to your cloud data warehouse for analytics.

With the masking feature in AutoSync, you have the option of keeping the structure of the data or replacing it with a null value. As some recent data breaches have shown, PII data does not belong in a data warehouse designed for analytics, and this feature enables you to ensure that.

Snap and platform enhancements

Easily load nested datain AVRO, JSON, ORC, or Parquet files from your Azure storage to tables in the Databricks Lakehouse Platform with new capabilities in the ELT Load Snap.

Improved ease of use:

  • For IT developers and admins, with the ability to add tags and icons for various environments, such as Development, Test, Production, etc.
  • For administrators, as the platform now saves specific configurations across logins, such as time window selections and list/map setting in the infrastructure view

Enhanced security:

  • We have tightened the association between tasks and projects for better security. With this release, for a pipeline to execute a task (an API call to a pipeline) the task must belong to the same Project Space.
  • The Snaplex configuration file is now only available via an API or for download via the user interface. This change ensures that only the authenticated entities get access to it.
