Celebrating Green Flag Award Winning Schools as registrations re open for 2025

Run by charity organisation Keep Britain Tidy, Eco-Schools Green Flag is the only environmental educational and accreditation programme in England. It is also the largest environmental education programme in the world, spanning 64 countries and more than 2.3 million children and young people are actively taking part in it.

Through the Eco-Schools Green Flag programme, students can discuss environmental issues and take actions to build an eco-friendly borough.

This year, Hounslow is celebrating six new schools and nurseries obtaining Green Flag awards for their exceptional efforts:

These awards reflect the dedication of educators and students alike in fostering a culture of environmental awareness and sustainability within our community.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment, has said:

"Caring for the environment should start at an early age. The Eco-Schools Green Flag programme is an excellent opportunity for schools and teachers to celebrate the ecological achievements by children and young people in Hounslow."

Councillor Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Climate, Environment and Transport, has said:

"As we celebrate these accomplishments, we encourage other schools and nurseries to consider applying for the Green Flag Award this year. The Green Flag Award is not only a recognition of your efforts but also a fantastic opportunity to engage students in environmental initiatives and inspire them to be responsible stewards of our planet."
