Homicide detectives are releasing images of a vehicle whose occupant(s) may have witnessed activity related to the recent Mill Creek Ravine homicide.

The vehicle, a grey 2012 to 2017 Hyundai Sante Fe SUV, is believed to have been parked in the Mill Creek Ravine parking lot just prior to the arrival of Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) at 8:12 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Investigators believe the vehicle and its occupant(s)may have witnessed activity related to Threna Waskahat's death and are asking for the public's assistance locating the vehicle and its occupant(s). Photos of the vehicle captured by nearby surveillance cameras are included below.


EPS Homicide investigators believe the occupant(s) of this Hyundai Santa Fe SUV may have witnessedactivity related to the June 29th Mill Creek Ravine homicide.

Background information

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, Southwest Branch patrol officers were called by Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) regarding a death in Millcreek Ravine just north of 85 Avenue and west of the Millcreek Ravine parking lot. EFRS responded to a reported fire in the area and, after extinguishing the fire, located a deceased person.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner's office completed an autopsy on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, and confirmed that the death of Threna Waskahat, 31, was a homicide. The cause of death is being withheld for investigative reasons.
