More than 1,500 Individuals Join Family Equality in Provincetown for the 30th Anniversary of Family Equality’s Family Week
Families from across the U.S. and around the world gathered in Provincetown for the largest annual gathering of LGBTQ+ families in the world for a week of family-friendly events July 27 - August 3.
Provincetown, MA - At the start of this month, Family Equality, the leading national organization for current and future LGBTQ+ families, welcomed around 600 families, and more than 1,500 individuals, to Provincetown, Massachusetts for the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of Family Week, the largest annual gathering of LGBTQ+ families in the world. Since the event's founding in 1994, it's grown to include families from nearly 40 states and 8 countries.
This year's festivities featured family-friendly programming that celebrate, support, and connect LGBTQ+ families at a time when many are facing threats from the school board to the state house.
The Family Week 2024 schedule included:
Family fun events such as the annual Beach Bash and daily gatherings for youth of specific age groups.
Drag performances and story times with queens like Tara Hoot.
Opportunities for attendees to support Family Equality's year-long work to advocate for LGBTQ+ families, including Family Equality's third-annual Family Night: 90s Party
Family Equality's first-ever Family Day for BIPOC LGBTQ+ parents in the Boston metro area to experience the fun of Family Week packed into 24 hours;
