It is with great satisfaction that we announce the significant progress we have made since April 2023, in collaboration with Embalatges Casajuana, to contribute to the Biodiversity Conservation Project in Usambara, Tanzania, through sustainable initiatives. Together, the two companies actively contribute to this project by planting trees associated with Greif's purchase of pallets.
In 2024, until August, we managed to offset 8,824 kg of CO2 and planted 22 trees. In total, since the start of our collaboration in 2023, we have already planted 38 trees and offset a total of 16,034 kg of CO2.
These results not only reflect our commitment to sustainability, but also highlight the importance of collective actions in preserving biodiversity. We thank everyone involved for their ongoing contributions and efforts. We look forward to continuing this journey for a more sustainable future.
Preserving biodiversity in the Eastern Arc Mountains rainforest is the main goal of this project. In addition, key issues such as reversing the severe deforestation around the Forest Nature Reserve, a critical need for wood and building materials, the need for environmental conservation education, and extreme poverty reduction through agroforestry will be addressed.
