New Regulations: Title IX Final Rule

Dear Adelphi Community Members,

Adelphi University is proud of its ongoing commitment to providing an environment free of sex discrimination and harassment. In accordance with The U.S. Department of Education's 2024 Title IX Final Rule, we have implemented new policy for Sex Discrimination, Sexual Misconduct and Other Prohibited Conduct Grievance Procedures, effective August 1, 2024.

This policy is governed by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and includes the recent 2024 amendments. These amended regulations advance Title IX's mission to combat sex discrimination and ensure that federally funded institutions effectively take action to end prohibited conduct and remedy its effects. The Final Rule strengthens and expands protections to include discrimination based on sex stereotypes, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex characteristics, pregnancy, or related conditions.

Our updated policy aligns with federal law and maintains our comprehensive approach to addressing discrimination.
