2-Way Gray Street Conversion Work to begin

August 1, 2024

Construction for the 2-way Gray Street Conversion will begin on August 5, 2024. Over the course of a year, work will take place between University Boulevard and Porter Avenue and be carried out by a contractor. Workers will modify the roadway configuration from the current one-way westbound configuration, to two-way traffic both east and westbound. This will require new roadway striping, reconfiguration of angled parking along the street, and new signalization equipment at intersections as well as the BNSF railroad crossing. The project will also incorporate streetscape elements similar to those being implemented along Porter Avenue and Main Street.

Lane travel may be impacted during work but the roadway should remain open. Construction will begin on the North side of Porter. Written notice is being relayed to area property owners who may be intermittently impacted. Questions can be directed to Public Works at (405) 366-5453. Any relevant updates to this project will be posted to this webpage.
