Gun Arrest On The Taconic State Parkway

On August 27, 2024, the New York State Police form the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested three people for illegal possession of a handgun following a routine traffic stop.

At approximately 4:50 a.m., Troopers initiated a traffic stop of a 2016 Kia Sportage northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Clinton for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation determined the three occupants were in illegal possession of a Smith and Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380.

The operator, Sheryl A. Henry, age 22, of Bay Shore, NY, Tamika J. Mason, age 21, of Brooklyn, NY, and Danielle Adriana Espinal, age 23, of Brooklyn, NY, were all arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2^nd degree, a class C felony.

All three subjects were arraigned before the Honorable Judge Buchal of the town of Stanford Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond to reappear before the town of Clinton Court on a future date.
