LEADER JEFFRIES STATEMENT ON VETERANS DAY

Brooklyn, NY - Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement:

Each year on Veterans Day, our nation comes together to honor those who have defended our freedom. Year after year, decade after decade, our nation's veterans have been there for us during our time of need. On Veterans Day, we recommit ourselves to being there for them throughout their life.

As Members of Congress, we have a sacred responsibility to stand up for the health, safety and economic well-being of those who put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms that we hold dear. House Democrats will continue to fight for transformative legislation like the PACT Act which expands care for the millions of veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange and other toxic substances while defending our nation.

We are forever indebted to our servicemembers and their families and House Democrats will never stop fighting to ensure that no veteran is left behind.
