Calaveras County

Highway Lane Closures
State Routes 4, 26 & 49

Calaveras County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various lane closures on State Route 4 (SR-4), SR-26 and SR-49 for maintenance and construction operations. Work to occur as follows:

State Route 4

Intermittent traffic breaks from Bonanza Mine Road to Appaloosa Road for construction beginning Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

State Route 26

One-way traffic control at Paloma Road for utility work on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Long-term one-way traffic control at South Fork Mokelumne River Bridge for bridge/guardrail work through August 31, 2024.

Long term one-way traffic control at North Fork Mokelumne River Bridge for bridge/guardrail work through August 31, 2024.

  • NOTE: All trailered vehicles are NOT recommended due to reduced traffic lane width.

State Route 49

One-way traffic control from Monte Verde Street to SR-4 North Bypass for utility work beginning Tuesday, August 27, thought Friday, August 30, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

All work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
