Kenai Fjords National Park Seeks Public Feedback into New Frontcountry Management Plan

Date:
September 13, 2024

SEWARD, Alaska - Kenai Fjords National Park is seeking public feedback into park's new Frontcountry Management Plan. The frontcountry area of Kenai Fjords National Park, located around 10 miles northwest of Seward, Alaska, is the most frequently visited and only road-accessible area in the park.

The new plan has updated management zones, park regulations and management strategies to ensure the National Park Service is able to protect natural resources, facilities, and infrastructure while offering high quality, safe frontcountry experiences. The plan also addresses management issues triggered by glacial retreat and expands opportunities for visitors to enjoy an array of features and resources near Exit Glacier.
