Colorado Christian University Dedicates Armstrong Center

Colorado Christian University, the leading interdenominational Christian university in the Rocky Mountain region, dedicated the newly-constructed Armstrong Center on the university's Lakewood campus Friday, October 5, 2024. The Armstrong Center is the new academic backbone of the university's residential campus and will serve as the home of the School of Music and is named in honor of former U.S. senator and CCU president Bill Armstrong.

"The dedication of the Armstrong Center is about the future for God's glory and praise," said Wil Armstrong, chairman of the Board of Trustees and son of the center's namesake. "Back when my dad began his work at CCU in 2006, he envisioned a transformed university. He imagined a renewed university. He wanted CCU to be a great university."

The 60,000-square-foot Armstrong Center is the fifth building completed since 2015 as part of the university's comprehensive campus redevelopment plan. In addition to housing the School of Music, the center includes the university's first dedicated chapel space, a state-of-the-art library, a performance hall and much needed classroom space.

"Today is one of the most important days in the history of Colorado Christian University, but it's not about the new building," said Armstrong. "It's what goes on inside these buildings, the rising up of the next generation. That's what matters most."

The dedication ceremony drew several hundred attendees from across the country who gathered to celebrate the new facility and honor the legacy of the Bill Armstrong and his passion for Christ-centered higher education.

"This significant moment in CCU's history begs us to respectfully reflect as we move boldly into the future," said Eric Hogue, CCU president. "This momentous day has been prayed for by many for a longtime. It is God's work and provision that we celebrate today."
