Intersection Closure: Torrence Road and Lazo Road September 16 - 20

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) announces a necessary road closure of the intersection of Torrence Road and Lazo Road for five days from September 16 - 20, 2024. This road closure is essential for the sewer conveyance project construction. Work will be conducted during the hours of 7:00 am until 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Balmoral Avenue will be re-opened to traffic. Access to Goose Spit is via Balmoral Avenue to Hawkins Road.

The detour route for residents who use Lazo Road to access their properties is Pritchard Road to Guthrie Road and down Lazo Road.

Lazo Road is still closed from Guthrie Road to Brent Road, and the Knight Road detour continues to be in effect. However, Lazo Road south of Guthrie, is no longer part of the detour route. This section of Lazo Road is for local traffic only while the Torrence/Lazo intersection is closed. Traffic will be detoured at Noel Avenue.

Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to anticipate additional travel time during the closure period. The cooperation and patience of the public are greatly appreciated as we work to enhance the sewer system infrastructure of our community.
