Music Industry Studies Informational Meeting

The Department of Music in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences will host an informational meeting for students and faculty interested in the new Music Industry Studies program. The new initiative has developed an online certificate program, a collaborative concentration in data science, and provides on-campus students with exciting new coursework in the field. The information session will introduce the program as it exists now but will also include discussions on future plans for the area.

Department of Music faculty members Jake Hertzog and Justin Hunter will present the current faculty and interests while gauging interest from all participants of the session. New curriculum is being designed to expand the program, and input from the campus community is greatly appreciated. Hertzog says of the program that "this new area of focus for the department is a direct reflection of student demand that has also created student-run efforts like Hills Records. I am so excited to see how this area grows in both veracity and rigor."

The session is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 3-4 p.m. in room 335 of the music building (MUSC 335). Any campus community members interested in learning about this program are invited to attend. For more information, contact Justin Hunter or Jake Hertzog.
