MATSUI STATEMENT ON SACRAMENTO REPUBLIC FC ANNOUNCEMENTS

SACRAMENTO, CA - Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-07) released the following statement after Wilton Rancheria, the City of Sacramento, Downtown Railyard Venture, LLC, and Sacramento Republic FC announced a deal for the construction of a new soccer stadium and entertainment district in Sacramento's downtown Railyards district. Wilton Rancheria will take a majority ownership stake of Sacramento Republic FC.

"In Sacramento, we take our sports seriously, and Republic FC and its fans embody the passion, energy, and civic pride of our great city," said Congresswoman Matsui. "The collective spirit and support for Republic FC lifts our entire region up, and I cannot be happier for the people of Sacramento, Wilton Rancheria, and Republic FC. Today's announcements reflect the community-centric development that is possible when our innovators and job creators come together towards a common goal."
