UTPD Hosting Rocket Re-Fuel Food Drive Through Oct. 22
The University of Toledo Police Department is partnering with several campus offices for Rocket Re-Fuel Food Drive as their annual Faith & Blue event, now through Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Faith & Blue is a national organization that strives to build stronger communities by engaging people of all faiths in a common cause. The Rocket Re-Fuel Food Drive will benefit the Rocket Fuel - Student Food Pantries located on Main and Health Science Campuses and donations of non-perishable food items and hygiene products are needed from the UToledo community. This drive also will coincide with the "Clash of the Cans" canned food drive between the Toledo Rockets and the BGSU Falcons as part of the Battle of I-75 game on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Glass Bowl Stadium.
Types of Donations Accepted:
• Non-perishable food items (canned, bagged or boxed): canned soup, tuna, rice, oatmeal, etc.
• Personal hygiene: toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, etc.
• Kitchen/Cleaning/Laundry Supplies: can opener, disinfectant wipes, laundry detergent, etc.
To donate fresh, refrigerated or frozen food items, drop off these items directly to the Rocket Fuel Pantry or give a monetary gift instead.
The Donation Locations are:
Main Campus:
• Public Safety Center (UTPD);
• Office of Student Engagement (Thompson Student Union Room 1532);
• Carlson Library;
• Health and Human Services Building;
• Rocket Hall and Park UToledo; and
• Student Recreation Center.
Health Science Campus:
• UToledo Health Security (Basement Mulford Library);
• College of Nursing Student Affairs (Collier);
• College of Medicine and Life Sciences Student Affairs (Mulford Library First Floor); and
• Morse Center.
On Game Day:
• Alumni Pavilion; and
• Glass Bowl Stadium Concourse during the UToledo Rockets vs. Miami RedHawks homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 5.
