Appeal to locate 87-year-old woman missing from Beecroft

A geo-targeted text message has been sent to residents in the Beecroft area - if you have received a text from +61 444 444 444 it is not a scam.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an 87-year-old woman missing from her Beecroft home since this afternoon.

Mrs Guijiao Huang was last seen at her Beecroft home about 5pm (Monday 16 September 2024).

When she couldn't be found, her family began searching for her till alerting Ryde Police Area Command about 8.30pm, and inquiries commenced into her whereabouts.

Police and her family hold concerns for Mrs Huang's safety due to her living with dementia; this is the first time she has gone missing.

Mrs Huang is described as being of Asian appearance, with a medium build and 156cm tall. She has dark eyes and white hair. When last seen she was wearing long black pants and a black jacket with yellow flowers on it.

She does not speak English and may appear disoriented.

Mrs Huang regularly walks between Malton Road and the Beecroft shopping precinct.

Anyone who may have seen Mrs Huang, or has information about her whereabouts, is urged to contact Triple Zero (000).
