Washington, DC, Oct. 3, 2024 -Those attending the world's most powerful business aviation event will have the valuable opportunity to hear perspectives from the nation's most influential safety regulators and officials, including J. Todd Inman, the newest member of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

Inman, who joined the NTSB in March 2024, will keynote the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) National Safety Forum held in conjunction with the upcoming NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, NV.

"We are pleased to welcome Member Inman to this year's National Safety Forum and look forward to his perspectives on the most pressing issues affecting business aviation, as well as new paths and opportunities to further improve operational safety," said Mark Larsen, NBAA director of safety and flight operations.

Prior to coming to the NTSB, Inman gained vast experience in the federal, state and private sectors. That includes serving as chief of staff and director of operations in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT); secretary of the Department of Management Services for the state of Florida; and in the Special Investigative Unit at State Farm Insurance Companies.

"Business aviation is a leader in the development of robust safety practices and fostering effective safety cultures and solutions," Inman noted. "I look forward to participating in the National Safety Forum and NBAA-BACE, and to engaging in a thought-provoking discussion on business aviation safety."

With sessions taking place throughout NBAA-BACE, the National Safety Forum will spotlight significant advancements in the evolving safety landscape of business aviation, including the FAA's recently enacted Part 5 safety management system (SMS) mandate, the benefits of flight data monitoring programs and ongoing efforts to better address pilots' mental wellness.

The safety focus at NBAA-BACE begins Monday, Oct. 21 with the Single-Pilot Safety Standdown and Small Operators Symposium. The show will also host a variety of peer learning sessions for those flying everything from piston aircraft to large-cabin business jets, in both domestic and international operations.

Inman joins an impressive list of key government officials and regulators participating in NBAA-BACE. These include Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Michael Whitaker, who will speak at the opening session of NBAA-BACE on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Reps. Sam Graves (R-6-MO) and Rick Larsen (D-2-WA), who were most responsible for shaping the FAA reauthorization bill enacted earlier this year, will participate in an invite-only Newsmakers Luncheon on Monday, Oct. 21.

On the NBAA-BACE Flight Deck, the "Meet the Regulators" session will host five leading regulators guiding the future of aviation regulation: Tim Arel, COO of the FAA's Traffic Organization; David Boulter, associate administrator for aviation safety for the FAA; Laurence Wildgoose, FAA assistant administrator for policy, international affairs, and environment; and Holly Canevari, the deputy administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

NBAA-BACE, taking place Oct.22-24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport (HND), is the world's most powerful business aviation event of the year. Learn more about NBAA-BACE.
