U.S. News & World Report Rates Conemaugh Memorial Among the Best Hospitals for 2024-2025 in Heart Failure Care

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's Best Hospitals for 2024-2025, earning a High-Performing rating in Heart Failure care for the second consecutive year. This prestigious recognition is the highest honor awarded in the U.S. News Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

The annual ratings serve as a trusted resource, helping patients and their healthcare providers make informed decisions about where to receive care for complex conditions and elective procedures.

"Receiving this High-Performing distinction in Heart Failure Care is a testament to our unwavering commitment to clinical excellence," said Rodney D. Reider, Chief Executive Officer and Market President of Conemaugh Health System. "This achievement reflects the dedication, skill, and compassion of our healthcare professionals, especially those in our heart failure program and emergency department."

"Our mission of making communities healthier is at the heart of everything we do, and this honor underscores our ongoing commitment to providing life-saving care," Reider added.

U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. Hospitals achieving "High Performing" status demonstrated exceptional performance in areas such as clinical outcomes, nursing quality, and patient experience.

"For 35 years, U.S. News has been a trusted guide for patients making critical healthcare decisions," said Ben Harder, Chief of Health Analysis and Managing Editor at U.S. News. "The 'High Performing' designation highlights hospitals that consistently deliver high-quality care in specific procedures and conditions, underscoring their expertise and commitment to patient well-being."

The Best Hospitals rankings are determined using objective measures, including risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and nursing quality, based on millions of patient records, including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data. This year's analysis expanded to include care provided to patients with Medicare Advantage plans and outpatient care, nearly doubling the data set used for evaluation.

"This recognition is also about our commitment to our neighbors and friends who rely on us for high-quality, compassionate care close to home," added Reider. "We're proud to be a healthcare partner for our community, supporting healthier lives and stronger futures for everyone we serve."

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center's High-Performing designation complements its accreditations as a Chest Pain Center, Heart Failure Program, and Cardiac Catheterization Lab with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention from the American College of Cardiology. The hospital is also designated as a HeartCARE Center of Excellence. It has achieved GOLD Level Heart Failure recognition with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll status from the American Heart Association, underscoring its dedication to advanced cardiac care and diabetes management.
