Minister Mbalula follow up visit to monitor progress on roll-out of Mangaung ITPN and opening of Moshoeshoe Road

In the continued drive to provide much needed public transport services to the communities and the province of the Free State, Transport Minister Mr. Fikile Mbalula will conduct a follow-up oversight visit and inspection to monitor progress on the roll-out of the Hauweng, Mangaung Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN) and the opening of Moshoeshoe Road.

Minister Mbalula's oversight visit will focus, among other critical matters, on:

  • An update on the Forensic Investigations into the Mangaung IPTN Bus Procurement and Infrastructure
  • Oversight visit and progress inspection of construction on Corridor A and B of Moshoeshoe Road
  • An update on the overall commencement and launch of Phase 1c of Hauweng operations

Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality is among the remaining cities that are rolling out the Integrated Public Transport Network system.

The Minister will be joined during the oversight progress monitoring visit and update by Free State MECs for Roads and Transport and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Mr William Bulwane and Mr Mxolisi Dukwana respectively as well as the Chairpersons and Board members of the Department's entities senior government officials and key transport stakeholders.
