Sacramento nighttime hospitality industry invited to attend upcoming safety events

The City of Sacramento Office of Nighttime Economy will host two free upcoming events designed to support and educate Sacramento nighttime hospitality industry. These events, to be held at 300 Richards Blvd., Room 221, will provide valuable training and information to help businesses operate safely and effectively.

"Our goal is to ensure that Sacramento's nightlife remains safe, vibrant, and well-managed," said Tina Lee-Vogt, the City's nighttime economy manager. "These training sessions provide crucial information and opportunities for businesses to connect with our team, ask questions, and share concerns."

July 18 from 3 to 5 p.m.
"Pubs, Clubs, and Bars" Training

This free event will cover essential safety practices, including practical tips and techniques for pat-downs, implementing workplace violence prevention plans, and updates from the California Department of Alcoholic & Beverage Control and city departments. This quarterly training fosters engagement and relationship-building with staff.

July 25 from 4 to 6 p.m.
"Safe Night Out" Training, in Collaboration with WEAVE

This free, two-hour training and certification program educates bar and restaurant staff on sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, and bystander intervention. Led by WEAVE, this interactive session will provide nightlife staff with critical knowledge on recognizing and responding to sexual and domestic violence. RSVPs are encouraged.
