City Council wrap-up for the Feb. 13 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 13, 2024 - The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Feb. 13 meeting:
  • The Mayor and Council received a presentation of the City of the Year Award from the Electric Vehicle Association.
  • The Mayor and Council held a public hearing and subsequently approved an of an ordinance to amend the City of Brookhaven Special Service District boundaries.
  • The Mayor and Council approved the appointment of Lola Okunola and Kimberly Landers, and re-Appointing Elizabeth Peterson and Lily Pabian to the Brookhaven Arts and Culture Commission.
  • The Mayor and Council approved the reappointment of members to the Citizens Oversight Committee to assist the Council, City staff, and the contract program manager in implementing the Park General Obligation Bond expenditures and Parks Master Plans.
  • The Council approved consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Jan. 23, 2024, Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • The release and sale of Canine Lord.
    • Reaffirmed the emergency pool repair at Murphey Candler Park in the amount of $141,585.
  • The Council approved atask order with Dewberry Engineers in the amount of $184,795 for professional engineering design services for Phases II and III of the Upper Poplar Creek Drainage Improvements Project
  • The Council approved an additional service agreement for Alta Planning & Design for the Brookhaven Multimodal Study for $42,808.
  • The Council approved a resolution to approve the 2024 Revenue Bonds Series.
  • The Council approved a resolution authorizing condemnation of right-of-way/easements from Cobblestone at Brookhaven for completing the Briarwood Road Multi-Use Path Project.
  • The Council approved an agreement for pool management services with Dynamo Pool Management in the amount not to exceed $340,000.
  • The Council approved the 2024 surplus review.
