HARRISBURG, Pa. - The following is a collection of events happening around Penn State Harrisburg next week.

Events

Honors Program Open House - 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Oct. 21, Olmsted W107 Gallery Lounge. Are you looking to take your educational experience to the next level? Penn State Harrisburg offers two honors programs for highly motivated students to achieve academic excellence and want more out of their college education. Join the Honors Programs for an Open House to learn more about this exciting opportunity.

Community Screening & Conversation - Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life - 6:30-8:30 p.m., Oct. 22, Kulkarni Theatre. Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies, the School of Humanities are partnering with WITF to present a community screening of "Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life." The screening will be followed by an expert-led panel discussion around issues raised in the film. Get free tickets here.

Domestic Violence Awareness event - 11 a.m.-1:15 p.m., Oct. 25, Olmsted C213 Auditorium. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and young people are disproportionally affected by this complex public health problem. This risk factor and others will be discussed to foster awareness of domestic violence. Presenters from varying disciplines will tackle this societal problem from their specific area of expertise.

WE ARE Weekend - Multiple events, Oct. 25-26. A variety of events are planned such as: WorldFest, Athletics Hall of Fame, Magic by Jake Schwartz!, Fall Undergraduate Open House, and WE ARE EXTRAVAGANZA, a student organization and club fair.

Entrepreneurial Leadership by Gibran Jones - 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Oct. 23, Hanes Library 101 Morrison Gallery. Join The Club for Technical Education and Career Success to hear from speaker Gibran Jones. He will be talking about entrepreneurial leadership. Register here.

"Faces: Portraits of Students at Penn State Harrisburg" - Through Dec. 20, Hanes Library. Presented by the School of Humanities in collaboration with the Madlyn L. Hanes Library.

"Driving, Designing, and Defying: Women Paving the Way in Automotive History" - Through Dec. 20, Hanes Library.

"Forty-Five Years After the Meltdown: Remembering the Accident at TMI in 2024" - Through Dec. 20, Hanes Library. Please note: Viewing of the exhibition is by appointment only on weekdays (Monday-Wednesday). As availability of the archives is limited, visitors are encouraged to schedule a visit at least two weeks in advance of the requested date/time.
