OAK BROOK, Ill. -- The IMRF Board of Trustees is soliciting qualified candidates to fill an anticipated Employee Trustee vacancy. A position will become vacant on January 1, 2025, when current Employee Trustee Peter Stefan moves to an Executive Trustee position. The Illinois Pension Code requires the Board of Trustees to fill the vacancy by appointment, until the next IMRF Employee Trustee election in the fall of 2025.
To be eligible to fill this vacancy, you must be an active member currently participating in IMRF; not employed by an IMRF employer as a chief executive officer, chief finance officer, or other officer, executive, or department head; and vested in IMRF (eight years for Tier 1 members, ten years for Tier 2 members). The IMRF Board anticipates making the appointment at a board meeting in early 2025.
To be considered to fill this vacancy, submit a letter of interest to IMRF by 4:30 pm on December 6, 2024. Include your contact information and any other information that you believe would help the IMRF Board of Trustees best evaluate your candidacy.

Whether you choose mail or email, the letter of interest must be received by IMRF by 4:30 pm on December 6, 2024. Letters received after that time will be rejected.
The appointment will expire after December 31, 2025. In the fall of 2025, IMRF will administer an Employee Trustee election. The winner of that election will serve until December 31, 2028. Any individual appointed to fill the vacancy will also be eligible to run for the remainder of the term.
