See 'Radium Girls' in CUC's Bergmann Theatre starting Oct. 9

The Artists of Concordia Theatre (ACT) is proud to present "Radium Girls" by D.W. Gregory, directed by Emil Clausing. Performances will run Oct. 9-12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bergmann Theatre on the University's campus. All tickets are free, but reservations are strongly encouraged at Brown Paper Tickets.

"Radium Girls" tells the true story of the women and girls who make labor history by taking on the U.S. Radium Corporation. Once assured of their safety, the dial painters for the luminous watch manufacturer begin to suffer and die from radiation-induced necrosis. As the corporation denies responsibility for the poisoning, these courageous women fight for justice in a saga that exposes the brutal intersections of gender, science and capital. Gregory's quick, witty and unflinching retelling shines critical light on this story of corporate greed and human dignity that has captured audiences both then and now.

The Bergmann Theatre is located in the Krentz Center at 7400 Augusta St., River Forest, IL. Free off-street parking is available in the University's parking structure, south of Division Street on Bonnie Brae Place. ADA-accessible parking is available in the visitors' lot adjacent to the north side of the University parking structure.
