LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENT

July 30th, 2024 NJIB

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Long Beach Township recently closed on a $7,000,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to replace deteriorated sanitary sewer mains with new 8-, 12-, and 18-inch PVC sewer mains including service laterals and cleanouts in the area between Beach Haven and Ship Bottom. The existing sewer main piping is deteriorating, creating leaks and infiltrations. The older sewer pipe is primarily asbestos cement which breaks down over time developing spalls, cracks and breaks. Television inspection of the sanitary sewer pipe is being performed for large sections of the wastewater system to identify the most critical areas. Grouting work provided a temporary solution in several locations, but this project offers a more permanent solution.
