GVSU in Photos, October 2024: Campus life in frames, highlights from autumn and forgotten lives remembered

The sun starts to set behind the cast bronze obelisk outside of Mackinac Hall October 7. Obelisks are tall, four-sided, narrow tapering monuments which end in a pyramid-like shape at the top. The original builders of these monuments were the Ancient Egyptians who called them "tekhenu" and built them as a symbol of their sun god, Ra.
