Bank Robbery suspect arrested

At 11:28 a.m. on November 7, Central Lane 911 received an alert that Umpqua Bank at 7^th and Olive was being robbed. The suspect is reported to have entered the bank and handed the teller a note threatening the use of a firearm. The suspect, later identified as 42-year-olld Thomas Wilson Bata fled the bank.

Eugene Police Patro, Street Crimes Unit, and Investigations flooded the area. They located Bata in his car in the parking lot, and he eventually gave himself up to officers, who challenged him.

Bata was lodged at Lane County Jail on charges of Robbery in the Second Degree.
