Construction is set to begin in earnest later this year, and completion of Phase 1 is expected in early 2026.

Alongside representatives from Major League Baseball, the city of Daytona Beach, and project partners, Barton Malow formally broke ground on the Jackie Robinson Ballpark Renovation project in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Thursday, August 15, marking a significant milestone in the city's efforts to upgrade this historic venue to MLB standards.

The project, commissioned by the City of Daytona Beach, is spearheaded by Barton Malow and MSA Sport, who are committed to revitalizing the Jackie Robinson Ballpark while preserving its rich history and heritage. Jackie Robinson Ballpark opened as the Daytona City Island Ballpark in 1914 and is the current home of the Daytona Tortugas, the Single-A minor league affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

The renovation includes the construction of a new 30,000 SF multi-story player development facility complete with modern amenities such as home and visiting clubhouses, batting cages, umpire facilities, fitness/training spaces, fully equipped dining facilities, and office space.

Barton Malow has completed more than 230 sports projects across all North American professional sports leagues and Division 1-3 college athletics.
